Angelina’s love for the performing arts rooted at a young age with her training in western classical music, on the piano and her involvement in the Singapore Youth Orchestra playing the French horn. She was also a student of the Theatre Studies department of the National University of Singapore during her undergraduate studies.

Angelina started to belly dance in the year 2002 and her passion for this expressive art form has grown stronger ever since. She has studied under many great Egyptian artists including Raqia Hassan, Dr. Mo Gedawwi, Mahmoud Reda, Yousry Shariff, Hossam and Serena Ramzy, Faten Salama, Momo Kadous, Mona El Said, Randa Kamel, and Dina, to mention a few. In December 2007, Angelina also completed the “Ah Lan Wa Sa Lan”, winter training course for teachers in Cairo, Egypt. She continues to fine-tune her dance studying under Ms Claribel Ng, Ms Chang Hsiao Min and other masters of the dance.

Throughout her performing career, Angelina has been invited to perform on numerous major platforms including the Arabian Nights of Esplanade Dans Festival 2007, 2008 and the Singapore Lyric Opera Gala Dinner 2007, which was graced by Mr S R Nathan, the President of Republic of Singapore. The latter was featured in high profile magazines, Singapore Tatler as well as Harpers’ Bazaar.

Since year 2006, Angelina has been the resident dancer in various popular Middle Eastern venues in Singapore. She is currently the resident dancer in Shiraz - a Persian cuisine fine dinning restaurant located in Clarke Quay.

Angelina also shares her joy in dancing by conducting belly dance classes and has been teaching private classes in organizations including the Singapore General Hospital, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Foreign Affairs since year 2006. She has developed her own unique teaching programme and is currently the resident belly dance instructor in prominent dance schools in Singapore; Danz People, Studio Wu, JJ Salsa Rengue Studio, as well as the founding school of belly dance in Singapore, Claribel’s Raks Sharqi Studio.

Angelina has also been invited to conduct Middle Eastern dance workshops in Singapore’s biggest performing arts centre, the Esplanade, since in year 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.

Apart from pursuing her dream, Angelina did not forget to add some fun in her life and participated in the local TV programme dance competition, The Dancefloor and together with her dance mate, made it to top 32. She was also a top ten finalist in Miss Singapore Universe 2007.

Today, Angelina lives her dream as an artist, working to fine tune her art and continues to explore opportunities to share her passion with the world.
